What is the Hallwindmeter?
The Hall Airspeed Indicator or Wind Meter was designed to fill the need for a simple, rugged, and reliable airspeed indicator, hand-held wind meter, and anemometer.
Since 1976, it has been the standard wind measuring and airspeed measuring instrument for hang gliders, paragliders and ultralight aircraft as well as many other uses such as wind surfing, kite flying, and radio controlled model airplanes.
Although of simple design, the Hall Airspeed Indicator or Wind Meter is very accurate. Each one is individually calibrated for optimal performance.
How it works
On the bottom of the Hall Wind Meter you will see a small tube opening. This is made to face directly into the wind. The red wind speed indicator will rise and fall indicating your current speed at any given moment.

We wondered ourselves so we sent one to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. (NIST) Our wind meter was tested in a dual section wind tunnel. Side by side comparison with true airspeed on one side and the Hall wind meter on the other side.
